Marta Dekker

Background

Ms. Marta Dekker is an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional with a certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences from The University of Western Ontario, a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from The University of New Brunswick, a Diploma in Chemical Production and Powering Engineering Technology from Lambton College, and a Certificate in Industrial Health and Safety Management from Lambton College.

With over 10 years of experience, Ms. Dekker has worked across consulting, manufacturing, oil and gas, and institutional sectors, providing a broad range of environmental, health, and safety (EHS), and industrial hygiene services. Her expertise includes real estate due diligence assessments; hazardous building material surveys and limited sampling for asbestos, lead, and mold; regulatory compliance support; contractor abatement oversight; confined space assessments; and the development of site-specific health and safety plans.

Ms. Dekker has conducted workplace exposure evaluations and health hazard assessments related to chemical and physical agents, including asbestos, mercury, lead, noise, and mold. She has also led investigations into indoor air quality and odor concerns in industrial, institutional and commercial facilities. In addition, she has actively supported compliance with federal and provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements for both general industry and construction and has carried out compliance audits for permitting processes such as Environmental Compliance Approvals in Ontario.
