Background

Ms. Alafia Akhtar is a Senior Consultant at Rimkus in New York City, specializing in exterior building envelope investigations, façade restoration, and the evaluation and repair of historic and contemporary structures. With more than a decade of experience in architectural conservation and project management, she has led complex restoration projects involving masonry, stone, terracotta, cast iron, copper, and historic window systems. Her work includes comprehensive condition assessments, regulatory coordination, façade inspections, and construction administration. Ms. Akhtar holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation with a concentration in Conservation from Columbia University. She is an APTI Recognized Professional and a Professional Associate of the American Institute of Conservation.
