Background
Dr. Robert Fijan holds a B.S.E. degree in Engineering Science from the University of Florida and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T.
Dr. Fijan’s experience has included multiple aspects of injury biomechanics and research. He has performed collaborative research with outside academic and industrial institutions. Dr. Fijan taught biomechanics to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students at the University of Michigan.
His primary areas of consulting expertise include injury consistency biomechanics, accident reconstruction, and photogrammetry. As a forensic investigator, Dr. Fijan performs biomechanical analyses on cases involving motor vehicle accidents, effects of restraint use, slips/trips and falls, workplace-related accidents, and other accidental events. He has reconstructed accidents involving low-speed accidents, fatality collisions, pedestrian accidents, vehicle rollovers, and premises liability accidents. Dr. Fijan also provides expertise in photogrammetry, particularly related to dash-cam and/or surveillance video for trucking and other cases.
