Mr. Ryan Fitzgerald holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis and is a registered professional engineer in Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
He has over 14 years of structural engineering experience in various industries, including residential, commercial, industrial, power generation, metals, chemical, and oil and gas upstream, midstream, and downstream petrochemical sectors. His experience and industry knowledge cover the areas of forensic engineering, design, engineering, engineering management, construction consulting, asset integrity assessments, and premises liability evaluations, including trips/falls and code compliance. Mr. Fitzgerald has extensive structural engineering experience, including designing and detailing foundations, anchoring, steel, concrete, and masonry. He has extensive experience working in older facilities for retrofit projects, along with determining the adequacy of existing structural systems.
As a forensic engineer, Mr. Fitzgerald has performed over 400 engineering investigations for insurance companies, construction companies, law firms, and property owners. He has expertise in evaluating buildings and structures for various conditions and forms of damage, including differential foundation movement, explosion damage, fire damage, vehicle and tree impact damage, construction defects, moisture intrusions/water damage, and various types of storm-related damage. He performs trip/fall investigations and verifies code compliance of facilities with respect to premises liability. He has performed evaluations of public walkways and stairs for trip/fall incidents.
