Jason Legg

Background

Mr. Jason Legg holds a bachelor’s degree and Master of Architecture degree.  He is a registered architect in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas; is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB); and is a Certified XL Tribometrist (CXLT).  Mr. Legg has diverse experience and knowledge from over 25 years in the field of architectural design, construction, and forensics.  His experience includes all phases of design and project management and construction administration.  He has worked extensively with structural, mechanical, and electrical design engineers related to building design, functionality, efficiency, and life-safety of all types of structures (wood-framed, pre-engineered metal buildings, masonry, and post-tensioned reinforced concrete, etc.) for a wide range of clients.  Mr. Legg has overseen the design and construction of commercial buildings, theme parks, education buildings, condominiums, grocery stores, and MILCON buildings/structures.  He also has experience in the development and design of parking lots, playgrounds, and pools.

In the field of premises liability, Mr. Legg has trial experience and has completed engagements assessing building and life-safety code compliance, ADA Standards for Accessible Design (ADA) evaluations, safety, and standard of care at restaurants, resort properties, hospitality, business/commercial, medical/hospital facilities,  mercantile/retail, residential, campus/school facilities, sports facilities, and parking structures.  In addition, Mr. Legg’s assessments have included furniture, bathing surfaces, bleachers, stormwater structures, traffic control devices, parking lots, pools, and marinas.

His forensics experience ranges from hurricane damage assessments, wind and hail evaluations, water intrusion cause and origin, cladding and waterproofing failures, A/E standard of care, construction documentation, and code and accessibility compliance.  Representative investigations include wind retaining wall failures, structural and cladding failures, and assessments resulting from weather events, wood-boring insect damage, damage due to construction defects, and building code compliance.
