
Background
Sezgin is an experienced testifying delay expert with extensive on-site experience in complex construction projects, valued up to US$ 2 billion. His expertise lies in on-site practice, specialising in implementing various project control techniques to ensure effective change management on large-scale construction projects, and preparation and management of multiple schedules for simultaneous projects.
Sezgin has provided services to project owners, main contractors, and subcontractors in relation to mediation / neutral evaluation (SMC), arbitration (ICC, ICSID, SIAC, HKIAC, and AIAC), and litigation (Singapore High Court, and Western Australia Supreme Court) matters across both public and private sectors. This has included the preparation of expert reports, rebuttal expert reports, joint statements, oral testimony, cross-examination, and hot tubbing. He has dealt with diverse delay-related issues on major capital projects, including oil and gas, power plants, greenfield urban development, subsea pipelines, mining, wastewater processing plants, utilities and transport infrastructure, solar farms, and commercial, residential, and technical buildings.
Sezgin’s professional experience extends internationally to Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Romania.
As part of his thought leadership contributions, Sezgin has served as a Council Member of the Society of Construction Law (Singapore) from 2021 to 2024 and is currently serving his third term (2024–2026) as an Office Bearer.
Sezgin has been consistently recognised by Lexology (formerly Who’s Who Legal) as a leading construction expert: Future Leader (2018 to 2021), National Leader (2022), Global Leader (2022 to 2023), and Recommended Construction Expert Witness (2024 and 2025).
