Background
Dr. Davis George Moye holds a B.S. degree in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy; an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Florida State University; and a JD from the Florida State University. He is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) and attorney in Florida and a certified project management professional.
As a P.E., he has developed conceptual designs and proposals and managed numerous projects involving grid scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), energy storage research and development, renewables implementation, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects for energy efficiency measures. Dr. Moye has developed battery emulator software for use in designing new battery cells, predicting long-term battery performance, and microgrid controls decision-making. Prior to receiving his P.E., he oversaw projects developing new electrochemical energy storage technology and developed methods to simulate the electrochemical reactions in energy storage devices. Pursuant to this role, he was intimately involved in an intellectual property dispute and worked throughout the entire litigation process. Dr. Moye’s consulting services include energy storage system performance modeling, project management services to bring energy technologies to higher technology readiness levels and to assist organizations in navigating government grants and other funding programs.
