Background
Paul is a highly experienced and motivated Chartered Quantity Surveyor (Director), working at the sharp end of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying. Paul prides himself on excellent levels of client service and delivery and has achieved success throughout his career by quickly establishing himself as part of a project delivery team, forging strong relationships, and understanding and fulfilling client’s objectives. Paul’s commitment to his role and his client is demonstrated by his willingness to be based wherever his client has required him to be, which has seen Paul based in client offices around the UK. This flexibility and adaptability to respond to whatever the demands of the role make him an excellent asset to any project he is deployed to work on and is why he has been so successful with his existing client representatives.
Paul has extensive commercial and contract experience working on large-scale, high-value complex gas, electricity, and nuclear projects undertaking roles in pre- and post-contract administration and project controls. Paul has worked for high-profile clients such as SGN, SSE, and Sellafield with a primary focus on working with NEC Contracts.
Post-contract competencies include commercial management, contract administration on various standard forms, project financial control and reporting, change management, and actual cost auditing.
Paul is an RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor and is now a qualified RICS Assessor, alongside leading the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Candidates within the organisation. With regard to his career to date, he has demonstrated an ability to grasp the issue and make a difference in multi-utility work in the engineering and construction industry with a bias towards the power electricity transmission distribution sector and nuclear sector.
Paul has an amiable nature with high intelligence, which gives him the ability to very quickly establish and adapt himself to become a key member and/or leader of the team.
