An international athletic footwear manufacturer wanted to understand how their top running shoe models, already popular in Europe, compared to competitors in the North American market in terms of the effect on runner movement and performance.

Rimkus Sports Science experts benchmarked the manufacturer’s models to their top competitors in laboratory testing with runners of varying skill levels. We developed a treadmill protocol whereby runners would be exposed to various shoes. Biomechanical measures and user perceptions were collected and provided to the manufacturer to assist in understanding and describing the difference between brands of shoes and to innovate their next model of shoe.
