Background
Rimkus experts were engaged by a developer to commission a new, high-rise corporate headquarters. The building featured extensive supplemental cooling, standby power, and life safety systems which required an extraordinary level of commissioning to validate with 100% certainty that these systems would function during an emergency.
Services Provided
Our team worked closely with the developer, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) consultants, and the general contractor to understand the occupant’s needs. We reviewed plans and sequences of operation during the design process, adding input on equipment selection, building management system (BMS) controls and operating sequences, and metering, incorporating the needs for commissioning and future testing into the project.
Our expertise and close collaboration resulted in a well-thought-out MEP system that met the occupant’s need for uninterruptible operations, while allowing for practical monitoring and testing throughout the life of the building.
