Subrogation Opportunities in Environmental Claims
June 24, 2026 at 10:00am CTSubrogation Opportunities in Environmental Claims is a one-hour course designed to educate insurance company participants concerning how to recognize or distinguish when environmental liability for an event may not, in entirety, be the responsibility of one carrier. A thorough investigation into the causation of a contamination event can shed light on other parties who may be jointly or solely responsible for the event. In many cases, other professional disciplines may be needed to accurately assess the contamination causation. A brief background will be established concerning typical environmental events and claims that arise from chemical and/or other releases causing damage. Common types of subrogation cases will be discussed, as well as situations where the damage event may be exacerbated by the remedial / abatement approach conducted by the contractor. Multiple case studies will be implemented to demonstrate keys concepts discussed, including the various professional disciplines used in these types of analyses.
