Background

Mr. Drew Eiland holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and an M.S. degree in Structural Engineering. As a professional, he has obtained registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) in several states. He has extensive experience in the design of new structures, design of renovations and expansions to existing structures, and structural evaluations of existing structures.

Mr. Eiland’s diverse structural design experience has equipped him with a broad understanding of building design and construction. His past projects include both building and non-building structures, including stadiums, bridges, signs, commercial buildings, educational facilities, detention facilities, and residential buildings. By completing projects throughout the continental United States, he has designed structures for a variety of extreme loading events including earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, blasts, and ballistics. Due to the large diversity in project types, he has a strong understanding of multiple construction types, including structural steel, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, mass timber, light-framed timber, cold-formed steel, aluminum, masonry (reinforced and unreinforced), and structural glass. These projects have ranged from less than $50,000 to more than $100 million in construction costs and extended up to 23 stories.

In addition to the design of new structures, Mr. Eiland also has experience evaluating existing structures, including historic structures dating back to the early 1900s. These evaluations include condition assessments, review of structural failures, and review of damaged or deteriorated structures and development of repair and mitigation strategies. These engagements include structural elements (concrete, steel, timber, and masonry) and façades.
