Background
Mr. Michel Mitchell is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a minor in Humanitarian Engineering, with an emphasis in structural and geotechnical engineering. Mr. Mitchell is a registered professional engineer in the State of Colorado and a formerly licensed general contractor in multiple states.
Mr. Mitchell has over 15 years of industry experience in design, engineering, management, cost estimating, procurement, scheduling, quality control, safety, and construction. This project experience encompasses the transportation, mining, commercial, residential, healthcare, water, wastewater, energy, education, and defense sectors with both government and private clients. Mr. Mitchell has also been involved in numerous emergency response projects involving floods and wildfires.
Mr. Mitchell’s areas of expertise include the design and construction of retaining walls, excavation support systems, temporary shoring, deep foundations, rockfall protection, geohazard mitigation, structural concrete repair, tunnel remediation, slope stabilization, shotcrete, and grouting. He has led and mentored teams of engineers in the design, estimating, and management of these projects as well as supervised the crews in the field constructing them. Mr. Mitchell has worked on projects with remote or very difficult access that required rope access and heavy-lift, helicopter-assisted construction techniques.
