Background

An experienced Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor with over 25 years of experience working on major projects in the nuclear, industrial engineering, rail, civil engineering, and building sectors.

Before joining Rimkus (formerly Hargreaves Jones), Steve worked for major global organisations, including Davis Langdon, AECOM, and Gleeds, providing consultancy services to clients in both the public and private sectors.

Much of his experience has been gained leading commercial functions that are part of multi-disciplined teams embedded within client organisations delivering multi-billion pound major programmes of works, such as Liverpool One for Grosvenor, the Manchester Metrolink Expansion Programme for Transport for Greater Manchester, High Speed Two for High Speed Two Limited, and, more recently, with Sellafield on their decommissioning programme.

At all stages of the project lifecycle, Steve is well versed in providing commercial solutions to challenging issues on high-profile major projects in politically sensitive environments.

Steve’s experience extends across cost planning, procurement, cost and claims management, cost and change control, budgetary reporting, measurement and evaluation, and the appraisal and analysis of entitlements and claims.
