Background
Mr. Zyad Jabal holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Florida. Mr. Jabal has a Master Mariner Credential (Master Captains license) with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and has a Marine Operator License (MRO) with the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
He has over 17 years of experience in power plants, heavy industrial engineering, operations, maintenance, root cause failure analysis, project management, and implementing quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Mr. Jabal’s areas of expertise include root cause and failure mechanism analysis, engineering design and equipment selection, construction, project management, operations, maintenance, feasibility studies, economic analysis, and safety programs. Specific areas of experience include the utility power industry and the design and modification of mechanical as well as plant systems such as pumps, heat exchangers, diesel generators, steam and gas turbines, high energy piping, piping supports, boilers, and heat recovery steam generators.
Mr. Jabal has conducted root cause analyses and provided recommendations for the restoration of damaged facilities and equipment, and prepared overall refurbishment cost estimates due to equipment failures. In addition to his technical expertise, he has prepared expert reports and assisted in mediations.
His forensic experience includes services in product and material failure analysis involving items such as chairs, appliances, water heaters, door systems, forklifts, lift gates, vehicle components (including engines, fuel injection, tires, suspension, brakes), and various heavy machinery. Mr. Jabal has analyzed piping and plumbing failures; mechanical failures; product design and assessment of conformance for industrial, residential, fire, RVs, food industry, gym equipment, and commercial applications. He has completed both domestic and international field assignments.
As a licensed USCG Master Mariner and an MRO, Mr. Jabal is knowledgeable in the areas of navigation and communications of a marine vessel, rules of the waterways, and boating safety. He has investigated boating accidents involving vessels such as boats, barges, wave runners, canoes, and sailboats. Mr. Jabal has experience with claims involving construction and manufacturing, vessel propulsion, and mechanical systems along with docks and loading/off-loading equipment.
