Background
The project involved a run-of-the-river plant located in the country of Georgia. Construction on the project began in 2013 and was completed in April 2021. It has an installed capacity of 187 megawatts with expected electricity output of 452 gigawatt-hours.
Services Provided
Following the collapse of the project’s headrace tunnel, Rimkus was appointed as the delay expert to produce a delay analysis. Using data from a windows analysis and a modelled hypothetical critical path, Rimkus identified the difference between the project’s actual duration and the project’s but-for duration, had the tunnel’s defects been rectified immediately prior to the collapse.
The delay analysis produced by Rimkus led to a mediated settlement.
