Robert J. Corbett, P.E., CGC

Background

Mr. Robert Corbett is a registered Professional Engineer, licensed General Contractor, licensed Mold Assessor, and certified XL Tribometrist with extensive experience in engineering, structural design, construction estimating, and project management with over 10 years of professional experience. He has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and an M.S. degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Mr. Corbett’s area of expertise is primarily focused on residential and commercial buildings, which includes property investigations of building systems, including foundations, framing, interior/exterior finishes, fenestrations, roofing, building envelopes, HVAC systems, plumbing, building settlement, hurricane and wind damage, moisture intrusion, concrete/stucco failures, structural failures/collapses, fire damage, seawall failures, pool failures, and construction defects. He also provides cost estimating for new construction and repairs.

Mr. Corbett is a state-certified Mold Assessor, in which indoor air quality issues are assessed for potential and mitigation is designed/implemented. He is also certified as a Water Damage Restoration Technician by the IICRC, in which he demonstrates the knowledge to perform remediation work and an understanding of water damage, its effects, and techniques for drying structures.

In addition to property investigations and construction claims/disputes, Mr. Corbett is also a certified XL Tribometrist and performs slip resistance index testing and Building Code compliance assessments in relation to personal injury claims where he investigates premises liability and assesses construction compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and contract specifications.
