Background

Mr. Robert Lewis is a graduate of Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. His professional background consists of experience in design engineering, project management, construction field assistance, and engineering management for residential, commercial, and industrial construction. He is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states.

Mr. Lewis’s professional background consists of broad experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and heavy industrial equipment. His HVAC knowledge and expertise includes packaged air conditioning units, furnaces, rooftop units, water chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, heat pumps, environmental exhaust systems, commercial kitchen exhaust systems, fans, blowers, ductwork, and controls. He has experience with plumbing systems, including domestic supply piping, chilled water piping, piping materials, water heaters, recirculation systems, drain piping, vent piping, natural gas piping, grease interceptors, oil separators, pumps, and lift stations. Mr. Lewis’s knowledge and expertise of industrial equipment include steam boilers, turbine generators, steam piping, compressed air piping, pumps, material conveyors, chute design, blowers, blow lines, debarking drums, wood chippers, chip screens, and paper machines.

Mr. Lewis has investigated residential and commercial HVAC claims related to indoor air quality, building moisture damage, design and operational deficiencies, failure analysis, condensation, and construction defects. He has investigated plumbing claims related to water leaks, sanitary sewer design and installation, septic systems, wells, pumps, and fixtures. Mr. Lewis has evaluated product failures of consumer and construction products related to mechanical design analysis, product design, and material failures.

Mr. Lewis has investigated mechanical and electrical failures of vehicles and vehicle consumer products, including passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, forklifts, boats, boat lifts, vehicle lifts, and floor jacks. Investigations include damage consistency, theft, brake failures, steering failures, transmission failures, engine failures, and material defects. He is trained and experienced in digital technologies, including FARO 3D scanning, AutoCad, HVAC load analysis software, and energy modeling.
