About the Conference

The LEA 2nd LATAM Seminar brings together industry professionals from across Latin America for a full day of education, discussion, and connection. Join us for expert-led panels focused on regional challenges such as political violence, major flood events, and DSU claims in non-hydroelectric contexts. The event will also include legal discussions on adjusting to regulatory changes in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. You can attend in person in Bogotá or virtually with live English translation provided.

About our Participation

Director of Business Development, Blanca Abellan Ciller, will participate in an insightful panel discussion entitled “DSU in a Non-Hydroelectric Power Plant”.  Joined by industry experts, they will explore the complexities and management of Delay in Start-Up (DSU) claims outside of hydroelectric projects from multiple perspectives.

The session is scheduled from 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM.

Speakers

Blanca Abellan, BEng (Hons), MechEng

Business Development Director

Blanca has a strong background in mechanical engineering industry logistics, resource planning, and alternative dispute resolution.  Blanca has successfully managed, minimised, and scrutinised project delays on major DSU and BI claims across a wide variety of sectors.

Blanca specialises in forensic delay analysis for the insurance and reinsurance markets and strongly believes in working co-operatively with clients.  She prioritises the need to proactively facilitate the entire claims resolution process, successfully expediting interruption periods and preventing the onset of disputes or contentious working environments.

Blanca has knowledge and understanding of all the major forms of Contract which include JCT, NEC, and other bespoke forms.  Blanca regularly advises clients in Latin America and globally in English and Spanish.
