Background
Chad is an experienced delay expert who specialises in analysing and evaluating the causes of project delays. He has assessed the impact of delays and disruption on a wide range of construction projects to their timelines and budgets, providing detailed reports for claims, reviews, and dispute resolutions. Chad uses advanced methods like critical path analysis, contemporaneous period analysis, and other forensic analysis to determine the reasons behind delays and how they affect the overall progress. As a delay expert, he offers valuable insights to principals, contractors, developers, and legal professionals, assisting with dispute resolution, delay analysis, and expert reports.
A qualified Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry in Australia and overseas, Chad honed his skills and expertise through a variety of roles, ranging from site engineer to project manager. His career began on-site as a Site Engineer and Quality Assurance Engineer, where he was responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for future roles, where he grew to take on more strategic and managerial responsibilities. Chad progressed to take on roles such as Project Engineer, Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, and Project Manager. In these positions, he developed a keen eye for detail, ensuring that work was coordinated and met specifications, and that contracts were adhered to. He was deeply involved in managing client relationships, negotiating terms, and overseeing compliance with contractual obligations. In his capacity as a Project Manager, he took on the overall responsibility for project delivery, including managing budgets, timelines, and teams. This experience helped Chad refine his problem-solving and leadership skills, ensuring that complex projects were completed efficiently and successfully.
As a result of his experience on construction sites and projects, Chad transitioned into a consultancy role, specialising in delay claims and providing expert advice in the construction industry. His extensive background in both construction management and contract administration has equipped him with a deep understanding of the causes and implications of delays, as well as the strategies required to resolve them. Chad’s broad experience across various facets of the construction process enables him to offer well-rounded, practical solutions to complex challenges in the industry.
