Background

Mr. Christopher Todd received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University.  He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida.  He has an extensive background in engineering design and forensics.  Mr. Todd’s experience includes hydraulic and hydrologic stormwater analysis and design, utility analysis and design, infrastructure and roadway analysis and design, construction defect analysis, building envelope consulting, and premises liability.

Mr. Todd’s engineering background includes a focus on civil engineering and land development design.  Mr. Todd has designed and managed a diverse range of multiple residential and commercial engineering projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.  He has master planned and developed numerous hydrologic analyses and engineering designs for projects ranging from 0.5 acres to 700 acres. These projects encompassed all types of hydraulic and hydrologic analyses, overland drainage assessments, utility evaluations, site development, cost estimating, construction drawings preparation and analysis, construction specifications preparation and analysis, and construction administration and support.

Since joining Rimkus in 2022, Mr. Todd has performed or assisted in more than 200 engineering investigations for law firms, insurance companies, and property owners.  Mr. Todd’s work in the field of forensics includes stormwater, grading, erosion control, and utility evaluations of alleged design and construction defects.  His property evaluations have also included roofing assessments, building material evaluations, building envelope evaluations, crawlspace and foundation evaluations, and structural damage evaluations. Additionally, he has conducted evaluations of walking surfaces in accidents that occurred in a variety of venues including exterior and interior applications.  In the course of completing these evaluations, he has determined compliance with walkway safety standards, building codes, and ADA requirements.  He has been qualified as an expert and provided testimony at trial.
