Background
Mr. Daniel Mortensen is an International Association of Arson Investigators-Certified Fire Investigator (V) (IAAI-CFI-V), National Association of Fire Investigators-Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (NAFI-CFEI), Certified Fire Inspector II, Certified Fire Instructor II, Certified Firefighter II, Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMT), Certified Hazardous Materials Operations Technician, and former Law Enforcement Officer.
Mr. Mortensen has over 30 years of experience in the fire service industry, including more than 15 years serving in dual roles as a Fire Inspector/Law Enforcement Officer and a Fire Investigator/Law Enforcement Officer. He has conducted over 600 fire origin and cause investigations and more than 600 fire code investigations.
His multidisciplinary background provides expertise in investigative procedures, code enforcement, fire dynamics, fire origin and cause determination, and fire code research and interpretation. Mr. Mortensen possesses extensive knowledge of fire protection systems, life safety principles, and means of egress requirements across a broad range of occupancy classifications.
