Dereck L. Rabun, P.E.

Background

Mr. Dereck Rabun holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering with a concentration on structural engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Mr. Rabun has extensive design, project management, and field inspection experience, including transportation, institutional, commercial, multi-family, and residential structures. His tasks in previous roles ranged from analysis and calculations, production of contract documents, construction administration, quality control, and business administration. He also has multiple years of experience as a specialty engineer for cold-formed steel components in load-bearing and non-load-bearing assemblies, prefabricated panels, and blast-resistant design for buildings.

Mr. Rabun’s work in the field of forensic engineering includes the investigation and analysis of commercial and residential structures and building envelopes. These assignments have been in response to hurricanes, hail, high wind, extreme heat and cold weather, accidents, and fire events. Also, Mr. Rabun has conducted premises liability inspections and evaluated property and building components, such as stairs, handrails, parking lots, and floor surfaces, for code compliance and slip resistance.
