Background
Mr. Drexel Gaw has experience in both commercial and residential construction with over 33 years in the construction industry.
Mr. Gaw spent 7 years working for a prominent U.S. healthcare provider as an Owner’s Construction Representative and Project Superintendent. In this role, Mr. Gaw used his knowledge of the construction trades to create and implement a pre-construction team. His responsibilities included project planning, meeting with architects, coordinating contractors, conducting site visits, documenting site conditions, developing pre-construction schedules and construction phasing plans, coordinating with third-party commissioning agents, and reviewing documents from schematic design through to approved permitted sets. He also worked with estimating on RFP development, focusing on constructability, identifying potential project change orders, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery. Mr. Gaw led the team in implementing the ability to track and schedule projects accurately in the pipeline. This gave the owner the ability to move project priority to fit the desired capital cost and meet projected budgets. He managed over 175 projects in development between schematic design and permitting.
For the prior 26 years, Mr. Gaw served as the President of a general contracting firm, overseeing commercial and residential construction projects. His roles included managing all aspects of the process, from client contact and project development to estimating, contracts, project oversight, completion, and closeout.
