Background

Mr. Joey McCloud holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado.

Mr. McCloud’s structural design experience includes wood, timber, masonry, concrete, structural steel, and cold-formed steel (CFS) structures. His work has also focused on performing forensic evaluations and repair drawings of residential, commercial, K-12, and military building structures. Representative design projects include single-family and multi-family buildings, light commercial buildings, heavy industrial buildings, government buildings, retaining walls, deep foundations, structural steel structures, blast-resistance structures, structural repair/remediation of buildings and homes, and temporary shoring plans. These projects have ranged in size from small residences to 30-story skyscrapers with budgets in excess of $350 million.  His experience also includes the use of many structural engineering software programs. He has used this software in the analysis and design of wood-framed walls, floors, and roofs; two-way/pre-post tension concrete slabs; heavy steel beams, columns, and supports; CFS floor and retrofit framing; and retaining walls. He has also performed code evaluations of existing buildings to determine the extent and required repairs and upgrades required by the governing codes and building officials.

In addition to Mr. McCloud’s design experience, he has managed projects producing budgets, schedules, cost estimates, construction bid documents, reports, and construction administration tasks (on-site, RFI, and submittals).
