Background

Mr. Justin Kovacsik, CGC, is a licensed General Contractor and commercial real estate development professional with over 20 years of experience spanning construction management, real estate development, and forensic consulting. He holds an MBA with a Finance concentration. Mr. Kovacsik has extensive expertise in the full lifecycle of construction and real estate development disputes. His areas of specialization include disaster recovery, construction project management, cost estimating, contract administration, construction means and methods, entitlements, due diligence, market analysis, pro forma and budget analysis, capital structure, and financial and economic damages analysis. As the former qualifying agent for one of the nation’s largest multifamily developer-builders, he brings firsthand understanding of the construction business and the critical relationships among owners, contractors/subcontractors, lenders, and investors. Mr. Kovacsik’s practice extends beyond physical causation to encompass the full spectrum of economic consequences arising from construction failures and real estate development disputes. He provides quantification of lost income, diminution in property value, project delay damages, and carrying cost impacts on income-producing commercial and multifamily properties.

His project experience spans multifamily, hospitality, senior living, commercial, and industrial developments, with direct involvement in new construction, renovation, and reconstruction across domestic markets, providing a single, integrated expert across construction causation, project economics, and economic damages from initial case evaluation through deposition and trial testimony.
