Ken Dauer

Background

Mr. Kenneth Dauer has over 30 years of experience in fire investigations in both the public and private sectors. He has assisted with and conducted more than 500 fire investigations, serving as lead fire investigator on numerous cases involving residential and commercial structures, as well as motor vehicles. Mr. Dauer has collaborated with local, state, and federal agencies, including the MABAS 19 Fire Investigation Team, the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

He holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Service Management from Moraine Valley Community College. His areas of expertise include fire origin and cause determination; explosion origin and cause determination; motor vehicle origin and cause determination; and evidence collection policies and procedures to ensure proper chain of custody.
