Background
Mark is an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and resourceful Director and Commercial Manager with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry.
Mark has a diverse background with experience in nuclear, civil engineering, and a wide range of disciplines such as rail, water, utilities, power generation, waste and energy, and framework contracts. Through this varied experience Mark has become highly adaptable and is quick to get to grips with different forms of contractual arrangements and methods of construction.
Mark combines his professional skills to produce concise, cogent, illustrated, and easy to understand reports that explain the key issues at stake. Mark is used to managing commercial teams and is also a proactive team player who can positively influence the wider multi-disciplinary project team to achieve a best value outcome for clients and key stakeholders.
Mark is responsible for the delivery of utility and infrastructure projects within the business; provision of guidance and support to project teams on contractual and commercial issues arising from contracts, including contract interpretation, issuance of proper and timely contractual notices, possible claims, and issue resolution and interface on contract management; establishing best practices for contract management; providing advice and recommendations to team members regarding contractual and legal implications of potential project strategies and decisions; managing contractual risks and opportunities; supporting management and control of all contractual documents, including ensuring that all such documents are complete, communicated at the right level, and stored properly; and managing or supporting on the drafting, review and/or negotiation of contracts and contract documents required in day-to-day activities.
