Mr. Myles Uhlir holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in Florida.
Mr. Uhlir’s professional experience includes property investigations on residential, commercial, and industrial structures, including assessments regarding moisture intrusion, roof damage, exterior cladding damage, interior finish damage (flooring, wall coatings, etc.), and storm-related damage. This includes comprehensive condition surveys and damage assessment inspections of structures and building components using both destructive and non-destructive investigation techniques. In addition, Mr. Uhlir’s experience includes years of restoration project design, production of technical specifications and bid documents, project management, and quality assurance.
As a forensic engineer, Mr. Uhlir performs cause and origin analysis of moisture intrusion damage, storm-related damage, construction defects, and building code compliance. Mr. Uhlir has inspected residential, commercial, industrial, civic, religious, and multi-residential building types. Forensic subjects include moisture intrusion around windows, doors, and other openings, exterior building envelope and cladding failure, including wall and roof system failures, fenestration component deficiencies and failures, deck waterproofing failure, and structural failures. Mr. Uhlir is highly experienced in performing water intrusion testing following ASTM International testing standards. Additionally, Mr. Uhlir is experienced in the analysis of construction contracts, specifications, records, invoices, and code requirements for breach of contract, payment, and delay disputes.
