Background

Along with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Roger Horn is a registered professional engineer in California with a broad knowledge in the field of mechanical, manufacturing, product failure (such as appliances, water filtration units, fire sprinkler systems, furniture, and consumer products, industrial, and manufacturing equipment), and reliability engineering.  He is a certified forensic locksmith for evaluations of potential automotive theft investigations and certified heavy vehicle mechanical inspection for commercial vehicle forensic inspections.

Mr. Horn has over 28 years of diversified engineering, manufacturing, and project management experience within the amusement park, automotive powertrain, design and manufacturing, and forensic engineering industries.  His engineering experience ranges from amusement park ride systems, automotive engine components and systems, consumer products, and military mobility projects.  He has expertise in design, strength analysis, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) risk/hazard assessments of product design, design for manufacturing, reliability testing, and equipment commissioning.  Design experience also includes safety devices such as machine guarding, fall protection anchors, guardrails, and catwalks.

As a forensic engineer, Mr. Horn provides consulting services for legal, insurance, and corporate clients that include automotive accident investigation, damage analysis, mechanical failures, vehicle thefts, and vehicle fires. He also investigates product failures such as appliances, water filtration units, and diesel pumps.  Additionally, he has also investigated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems mechanical failures, fire suppression systems, and plumbing systems.
