Background
Dr. Shuyang Han is a mechanical engineer specializing in orthopedic biomechanics, injury-mechanism analysis, orthopedic implant evaluation, experimental testing, and human movement science. He has 15 years of experience investigating clinically relevant biomechanical questions involving orthopedic trauma, sports medicine, total joint replacement, limb reconstruction, and bone-anchored prostheses.
Dr. Han has designed and conducted biomechanical investigations involving human cadaveric specimens, medical devices, customized test systems, motion-analysis technologies, and digital image correlation. His work has evaluated implant stability, strain distribution, surgical techniques, rehabilitation conditions, and failure mechanisms under physiologic and injury-producing loading conditions. He has led multidisciplinary research programs involving orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, engineers, and medical-device manufacturers.
His consulting work includes the biomechanical evaluation of injury mechanisms, fall dynamics, occupant motion, impact loading, orthopedic injuries, and implant performance. He reviews deposition testimony, accident reports, photographs, medical records, diagnostic imaging, and other available evidence to evaluate whether reported injury mechanisms are biomechanically consistent with the circumstances of an event. Dr. Han communicates his findings through technical reports, presentations, and consultation with legal, insurance, medical, and corporate clients. Dr. Han is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
