Mr. Tom Burns is a natural relationship builder who understands how to navigate the day-to-day challenges associated with complex projects. This skill serves him well working alongside Rimkus’ due diligence, development advisory, and technical teams.
As Principal Consultant, Mr. Burns assumes overall management of the project. His responsibilities center on the proper organization and management of the design and construction teams as well as cost planning services, development of project logistics, scheduling, feasibility assessments, and risk evaluation for project development. Mr. Burns is an integral part of the management team providing guidance to clients that include due diligence, development strategies, and other construction advisory services.
Mr. Burns is a seasoned construction executive with a history of client satisfaction on projects large and small, totaling over $1 billion. After 18 years in commercial construction, Mr. Burns expanded his impact on the project lifecycle by starting his own consulting firm operating exclusively from the owner’s vantage point, which led to managing projects for a national urban real estate firm specializing in the development of mixed-use high rises.
Mr. Burns has managed job budgets from $500 thousand to $200 million on projects in the multi-family residential, healthcare, academic, life science, corporate, industrial, government, and heavy highway construction markets.
He possesses a firm grasp of multiple project delivery methods including design/build, integrated project delivery, and CM at risk. He’s well-traveled in all styles of construction from ground-up to renovations and fit-outs.
