Background

Andrew is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 23 years of experience in the construction industry.  Andrew has experience working in building, infrastructure, and civil engineering.  He commenced his career working in engineering and topographical surveying, before progressing into quantity surveying and dispute resolution.

Andrew is experienced in the management and resolution of contentious projects including dispute avoidance and resolution, providing consulting and expert quantum advice, opinion, and reports.  Andrew regularly works alongside legal counsel and other experts in providing expert opinion.  He has been appointed to the dispute resolution board of a large Joint Venture project.  Alongside contentious workstreams, Andrew has significant experience in providing commercial administration on large projects providing transactional advice on risk mitigation, price, and estimation and bespoke or amended terms and conditions.

Andrew has gained experience across several dispute resolution and avoidance methods and has worked alongside legal counsel and quantum experts during the adjudication process for both referring and responding parties.  This work has varied from contractual interpretation and application to quantum assessment and dispute compensation events.  In arbitration, Andrew has worked as the assistant to the Quantum Expert associated with the evaluation of claims and counterclaims for both the Claimant and the Respondent, and the associated drafting. Andrew’s knowledge and experience in NEC3 form of contracts was a significant factor in his appointment to the Dispute Resolution Board of a Utilities Framework on behalf of the Joint Venture.
