Background

Mr. Steven Hess is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators. He retired from the fire service in 2023 after serving over 26 years and achieving the rank of Fire Captain, finishing his career on the Urban Seach and Rescue (USAR) team.  Mr. Hess has been a Fire Investigator for over 20 years, determining the origin and cause of incidents involving residential structures, commercial structures, and vehicle fires. He has been a licensed Paramedic for 33 years, working through the ranks of Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Apparatus Engineer, and Fire Protection Specialist (specializing in Oil field operations).

Mr. Hess has been the lead investigator on over 270 fires involving injuries, fatalities, arson, and fraud.
