Background

Mr. Wendt earned his B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida and an M.S.M. degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Florida with more than 23 years of professional experience. In addition, he is a Certified XL Tribometrist.

Mr. Wendt’s diverse industry knowledge covers many areas, including writing proposals; planning; engineering; procurement; engineering management; project management; scheduling; project cost estimating and budget control; implementing quality and control procedures; contract management; report generation; invoicing; coordinating equipment maintenance and repair; mobilization; and logistics. He has also participated in field activities in the environmental and infrastructure markets, with extensive experience in petroleum contamination assessment and remediation, facility condition assessments, and construction materials testing.

Mr. Wendt’s expertise includes condition assessments of building systems, including substructures, flooring, superstructures, exterior and finishes, and roofing systems. He has overseen the maintenance and repair of shipboard mechanical and electrical systems in the engine room. He is experienced in the testing of construction materials including concrete strength, proctor compaction, and soil density and classification. He has investigated and assessed the condition of both underground and aboveground storage tanks as well as secondary containment systems. Also, he has conducted Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.

As a forensic consultant, he investigates, evaluates, and analyzes failures in civil/structural engineering and general construction-related disciplines related to residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial buildings. He also investigates premises liability; verifies construction compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and contract specifications; and assesses construction job site safety issues.
