The Rimkus Materials Science team offers a range of forensic consulting services for the investigation of coating failure, defect, or performance issues. These services include analyzing the chemical composition, adhesion properties, and environmental factors that may have contributed to the degradation, discoloration, or peeling of paints and coatings. Our experts utilize cutting-edge technology to conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and provide recommendations for remediation. The goal is to help our clients understand the underlying causes of coating failures and offer solutions to prevent future occurrences. We have years of experience in failure analysis and corrosion evaluations throughout a broad expanse of industries. In addition to paints and coatings, we offer expertise in the following:
- Ferrous Metals
- Non-Ferrous Metals
- Polymers and Plastics
- Ceramics and Glass
- Composites
- Building Materials
When Paint and Coatings Fail: Understanding Failures through Forensic Investigations is a one-hour continuing education webinar. It presents an overview of the use of coatings and paint in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. This includes factors that drive the successful application and performance of paint and coating systems, failure of paint and coating systems, and forensic investigation and failure analysis of paint and coating systems and their unique requirements. Failure analysis of paint and coating systems often requires a holistic approach to understanding system requirements, inspection/testing results and system characterization, and environmental factors. In addition to the paint and coatings overview and failure analysis investigation approach, a series of case studies are also examined in this webinar. This free, one-hour webinar is led by Gregory Smith, Ph.D., P.E., Consultant. It is now available on demand at the link below. Continuing Education Webinars Attending our live webinar presentations provides US-based participants with the opportunity to earn CE or CLE credit hours.
