New Firefighting System Installation in Fuel Terminal

Background

Originally built in the 1920’s, St Sampsons Terminal in Guernsey is a fuel terminal covering over 129,000 sq. ft. The terminal comprises 10 main storage tanks and a total working capacity of circa 8,400 cubmic metres. As part of an upgrade investment programme, Rimkus assisted on a project for the installation of a new standalone firefighting system for the terminal, complete with its own control panel.

Given the nature of the project, specialist resources were required to travel from the UK mainland to deliver the project during the height of the Covid-19 global pandemic. This created logistical, project delivery, and planning complexities, which were successfully overcome.

Services Provided

Rimkus provided pre- and post-contract commercial management, contract administration, and project management services for the installation of a new firefighting system.
