Background
Mr. Paul Colman graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. His expertise as a project manager and engineer has developed over a 25-year career with a number of construction firms. He has construction management experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, and civil projects.
During his career, Mr. Colman has been responsible for managing all aspects of construction including contract and subcontract negotiations, project schedules, and construction claims. He has provided technical oversight and supervised job site activities and ensured enforcement of building codes, quality control, and safety procedures.
Since joining Rimkus, Mr. Colman has been responsible for investigating and evaluating commercial, residential, and civil structures to determine the cause and origin of apparent structural concerns and failures. He has expertise in assessing buildings and structures for construction defects, moisture intrusion/water damage, structural failure, roof collapse, differential foundation movement, construction vibration damage, fire damage, and hail/wind damage to roofs and buildings. He has investigated construction accidents, slip and falls, trip and falls, and compliance with building codes and contract specifications.
Mr. Colman has prepared cost estimates for residential and commercial properties. His catastrophe investigations include evaluation of tornado and hurricane damage in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. Mr. Colman has served as an expert witness in depositions and at trial.
