Mr. Charles Schaffer holds a B.Arch. degree in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a registered architect in California, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

He has extensive industry experience in design, construction, forensic analysis, and related areas of the building construction sector. His experience and industry knowledge cover over 25 years in the areas of preparation of architectural documents, construction, investigating construction defects, cost estimating, repair scope, and procedures. Mr. Schaffer has provided in-depth analysis related to premises liability matters, such as slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall incidents, associated with both public and private walking surfaces and stairways.

Mr. Schaffer is experienced with the Brungraber Mk I Articulated Strut Tribometer in relation to bathing surfaces and with the English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer related to slip resistance.

Mr. Schaffer’s design experience includes single-family residential and commercial buildings. Forensic experience related to construction issues includes single- and multi-family residential, mid-rise, commercial, and institutional buildings for construction defects, weatherproofing evaluation, and identification of mechanisms of failure including related resultant/consequential damage. Forensic experience related to premises liability matters includes both interior and exterior stairs and walking surfaces at both residential and commercial properties.
