Background

Ms. Dawn Zapp is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Certified Safety Professional.  Ms. Zapp holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Texas A &M University – Kingsville and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene and Safety.  She has over 15 years of experience in environmental, health, safety, and emergency response practice.

Ms. Zapp has completed workplace exposure evaluations and health hazard assessments related to chemical and physical agents, including chlorine, diisocyanates, welding fumes, toxic and nuisance dust, chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, noise, and ionizing radiation in healthcare facilities, utilities, petrochemical plants, and refineries.  She has developed comprehensive control methodologies and programs to address chemical and physical hazards. She has also completed investigations of indoor air quality problems due to molds and other contaminants in commercial buildings and healthcare facilities.  Ms. Zapp was actively involved in leading compliance efforts to meet federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations for General and Construction Industries; state agencies tasked with radiation safety; and select federal DOT rules. She also has conducted compliance audits for such regulations in the U.S.
