Background
Mr. John Mahan’s responsibilities at Commercial Construction Consulting, LLC, A Rimkus Company (C3) include representing building owners and operators on construction projects, including overseeing improvements, and new construction in a variety of industries. Lead teams of design professionals to fully execute the desired outcome.
Mr. Mahan leads a due-diligence team during a large portfolio of commercial buildings sale. He has established a control matrix for clients during capital improvements. This resulted in on-time on-budget successful projects. He also has experience in owner representation of multiple mid- to high-rise life science projects throughout the country as well as due diligence for MEP for a multi-building portfolio during a transition in ownership.
Mr. Mahan has been in the operations and construction fields for more than 35 years. He started his career in the biotechnology industry working for Johnson & Johnson, Ortho Pharmaceutical, and the National Institutes of Health. He directly managed the ground-up construction of many facilities, as well as facility expansions in Puerto Rico, Ireland, California, and Massachusetts.
Mr. Mahan also worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years, responsible for all facilities engineering operations and improvements, including serving as owner’s representative during a major addition to a downtown Boston hotel. His experience in the construction field includes being responsible for a ground-up addition and renovations to a 5-star hotel. Mr. Mahan also has vast experience in the senior living and Class A office industries.
Mr. Mahan has participated in many local professional organizations, including the Hotel Engineers Association and the Electrical Council of New England, and served as a volunteer member and chairman of the “Automatic Sprinkler Appeals Board” for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
