Water Contamination Testing

Background

Rimkus’ breath of environmental toxicology experience encompasses very diverse projects, including toxic effects to people and animals from water, soil and air. Regulatory issues with environmental exposure are those that our toxicologists have collectively addressed for over 20 years.

Rimkus was retained to evaluate the possible impacts to the fish in a small pond from a hydraulic fluid spill. While working with the property owner, state regulatory agency, and client, Rimkus designed a focused site investigation and sampling scheme. Laboratory analysis verified that the concentration of hydraulic fluid in the pond was well below any health concern for human or animal exposure. Rimkus acted as a liaison between the state regulator and client to ensure that collection of the samples and the evaluation were compliant with state regulations. The issue was quickly and efficiently resolved with one sampling event and successful communications amongst all parties.
