Background
Mr. Raul Morales provides technical consultation in the areas of product and mechanical systems failure analysis and vehicle accident reconstruction. He has analyzed heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; water heaters; pumps; automation systems; chillers; vehicular brake systems; and diesel engines that have failed and identified the contributing factors. In addition, he has analyzed passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and heavy trucks post-collision to understand the dynamics involved in an accident. He has the training, experience, and certifications to download stored information from vehicles and understand speed, steering wheel position, brake position, accelerator position, and seat belt positions prior to impact. Mr. Morales is also proficient in utilizing 3-D models, simulations, and other advanced analysis tools to determine the cause of an incident.
Mr. Morales has a diverse mechanical engineering background with expertise in modular builds, automation systems, electrical systems, architectural systems, HVAC systems, and project management. He has led commissioning activities in various projects and verified compliance with ISO-9001, ISO-14644, Annex 1, 21 CFR Part 11, cGMP facilities, and various other ASME and ANSI/SMACNA standards. He has experience in all phases of construction projects, including user requirement specification generation, design/manufacturing, and project closeout. Throughout his career, Mr. Morales has demonstrated the ability to identify and reduce potential risks through detailed risk assessments and root cause analyses. He has led successful projects in Germany, France, Ireland, and throughout the U.S.
Mr. Morales graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley, along with a minor in Materials Science and Engineering. Mr. Morales completed courses in Mechanics of Materials, Fracture Mechanics, Principles of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Dynamics and Vibrations, Intermediate Engineering Analysis, Modeling of Physical Systems, HVAC System Design, Heat Transfer, and Advanced System Dynamics and Controls. In addition, he is a licensed professional mechanical engineer in Texas.
