Background
Rimkus was commissioned to provide commercial consultancy services to a water supply and sewerage utility company serving customers in southwest England in connection with the construction of a 6.5km sewer pipeline.
Services Provided
The Rimkus team provided services for the client throughout various stages of the significant tunnelling project, including:
- A pre-construction assurance review of the contract for the design and construction;
- A review of the commercial and contractual status of the project and a review of risk apportionment and implications during construction;
- A planning review against planned and actual progress outlining the reasons and impacts for potential delays;
- A review of current cost estimates to completion; and
- A review of the implications associated with potential delays to completion.
The commission was led by a Rimkus director with a team of senior consultants and quantity surveyors. The main deliverable to the client was a comprehensive report of the review findings, which led to an additional report and advice on the development of template contracts for future works.
