Québec Building Codes and Regulations
Quebec Bill 122
Québec Bill 122 requires that building owners have a comprehensive inspection of building façades and multi-level parking structures every five years.
This crucial requirement aims to address the impact of weathering on structural integrity and focuses on buildings with five or more stories above ground level, emphasizing the importance of safety for high-rise structures.
The bill also requires that owners/managers arrange for periodic inspections of concrete slabs and other components of multi-level parking structures every five years, conducted by qualified engineers. The first inspection must be performed between 12 and 18 months after the parking lot construction.
