Background
Hamid is a skilled Senior Engineer with more than 20 years of international experience. He has undertaken a range of site- and office-based construction roles, assisting contractors and principals during project implementation across various sectors. He has practical expertise in project management, programming, delay and cost analysis.
Drawing on extensive experience in project management, construction claims, dispute resolution, risk assessment, and forensic analysis, Hamid provides independent, evidence-based advice across the project lifecycle. His experience includes claims management and advisory services, encompassing the preparation, assessment, assisting in providing advice and evaluation of construction claims relating to delay, delay costs, disruption and disputed variations for a variety of projects for the purposes of adjudication, arbitration and litigation. He supports clients in the identification, development, and defence of claims, ensuring alignment with contractual entitlements and project objectives. He also provides strategic advice on dispute avoidance, helping project teams proactively manage risks and contractual issues before they escalate into formal disputes.
Hamid has extensive experience in programming and has been involved in the preparation and review of project programs, as well as the development of tender programs. His project experience ranges from small-scale residential developments to high-value infrastructure projects across multiple sectors and regions, working with both contractors and principals. Through close collaboration with technical and regional directors, he has developed strong expertise in contract and procurement management, project cost control, and claims assessment.
Hamid’s project implementation experience spans more than a decade across building, civil, and SMPEI projects. He has managed and contributed to projects including large-scale civil works (mega earthworks and deep foundations), road construction and maintenance, oil and gas facilities (including separation units, manifolds, pipelines, and wellhead facilities), residential and commercial buildings, and industrial workshops and warehouse construction.
Hamid also contributes to academia, supporting the teaching team at the University of Melbourne, School of Engineering and IT (Department of Infrastructure Engineering), where he works as a tutor for core subjects within the Master of Engineering (Project and Change Management) program.
