
Background
Paul McGonagle is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 35 years of industry experience. Paul brings extensive experience across the Construction, Rail, and Telecommunications sectors, where he has managed a wide range of electrical engineering responsibilities. His expertise spans design, installation, operations, maintenance, protection, control, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical systems.
A large proportion of his work has been in the renewable energy sector, which has moved from the margins to the mainstream. Over the past 25 years, he has delivered technical due diligence, authored detailed reports, and collaborated closely with legal, financial, and insurance stakeholders to ensure workmanship and equipment meet rigorous standards and are fit for purpose in this rapidly developing field.
Paul returned to higher education in 1994 and graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in 1998. Having completed an accredited professional development scheme with National Air Traffic Services (NATS), he was incorporated by the Institute of Engineering and Technology in 2002.
