Background

Peter has over 13 years post qualified experience as a Building Surveyor in the UK, Australia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. He is a building fabric consultant for all types of commercial and residential buildings.

Peter has provided expert advice on legislative non-compliance, construction defects, and building fabric failures. Peter has submitted litigation-compliant reports and given oral evidence in court hearings (NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal). His experience and technical understanding of building structures, defect pathology, and material failures have involved preparing complex technical documents for claim submissions.

Peter has experience of defect pathology and defect analysis for a range of structural, waterproofing, material, and workmanship failures. Peter has experience of undertaking a variety of defect and material failures including opening up and destructive investigations, abseil façade inspections, and laboratory-based material testing.

Peter has managed inspection teams with multiple specialist disciplines in the delivery of technical due diligence instructions for portfolios and individual properties. He has worked across a range of sectors including commercial real estate, industrial, hotels, healthcare, data centres, and student accommodation.
Peter has specified and managed remedial construction projects arising from structural, waterproofing, material, and workmanship failures. He has managed the remedial works process from inception to completion on behalf of a range of clients and for a variety of asset types, from the initial defect analysis and diagnosis through to completion.
