Background
Steve is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience, specialising in technical due diligence, building pathology, defect diagnosis, dilapidations, statutory compliance, and planned maintenance. He advises commercial, public-sector, healthcare, education, and residential clients.
Steve is also a Chartered Project Management Surveyor with extensive project experience acting as lead consultant, Employer’s Agent, and development monitor.
He has acted in an expert advisory capacity on construction-related technical disputes and insurance claims across a range of property types. He has also managed multidisciplinary inspection teams comprising building surveyors, engineers and other technical specialists.
He has extensive experience in the technical appraisal of buildings and estates for condition assessment, strategic maintenance planning, due diligence reporting, asset acquisition, and divestment. He has provided development monitoring for multi-million-pound construction projects on behalf of funders, owners, and other stakeholders.
Steve has held Partner or Director-level roles for over 20 years at national and international property consultancy firms, and has worked across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe.
His sector experience includes corporate real estate, offices, central and local government, private rented sector housing, student accommodation, senior living, healthcare, logistics and industrial property, higher and further education, telecoms, postal properties, and historic buildings.
