Background
Mr. Jo Medeiros graduated with honors in Civil/Structural Engineering from the Brazilian Federal University. He also holds a master’s degree in Construction Management along with some offshore oil facilities post-graduate studies in Equipment Engineering.
His professional background includes design and construction management of oil facilities (terminals, refineries, pipelines, treatment plants, and tank farms); residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings; and airport terminals.
Mr. Medeiros’s forensic experience includes structural analysis of flooring and roofing system collapses, roof wind damage evaluations, stucco and EIFS failures, and internal and external leak damage claims. He has evaluated building envelope water intrusions, storm and fire damage, roof drainage systems, corrosion damage in reinforced concrete structures, vibration claims due to blasting, and structural damage assessment.
Mr. Medeiros has assisted clients with construction dispute resolutions, evidence evaluation utilizing both destructive and non-destructive testing, construction compliance issues, as well as, resolving contract and specification disputes.
Mr. Medeiros is qualified in the evaluation and interpretation of the ASTM, the Florida Building Code, API, AWS, ACI, and AISC, in addition to others. He has provided legal deposition and court testimony in support of technical findings.
